148: Gadianton Robbers (& other fake stuff)

Just when we were starting to think it was all fake...we get to learn about even more fake people and places from that charming book of absolute made up bunk: the Book of Momo. We also read a letter from a listener who took the time to write in on fancy stationary. And there's a "He Said What" about conversion therapy that's worthy of a trigger warning. So please skip that section or this entire episode if that's a difficult subject for you.

Fellow Lesbians

10/10 fellow ex-Mormon. My parents left before I got baptized but I still have PTSD every December hearing “Away in a Manger”.

Also here is a hilarious story of how I thought Joseph Smith was like Jesus or god and then found out when I saw he’d signed the dollar bills in Utah and I was like 🤯 He was real??? Like real real? Whoa!

I’ve been sucked back because the rest of my family is Mormon still. Easter, baptisms, Christmas, having to be polite 😢 ah well

Elsa is queer ,

so relatable

only on the first episode and already love this

Laughter is better than anger!

Being able to laugh at the craziness of the religion I just left, (and all the hurt it caused), feels so good and is super therapeutic! Even though I am straight, there has been so much here for me as a victim of the same patriarchy. As a podcast connoisseur I can honestly say these two are podcast rockstars! So glad I found you ladies!
