We've been talking for the last few weeks about the parables Jesus shared in Matthew's gospel, just before he entered Jerusalem for the last time. We have learned about the importance of being ready and staying ready as we wait. We've learned about the importance of using our talents. And this week, Jesus gives specific instructions about what to do and how to serve others. The story of the sheep and the goats is a familiar one - the sheep feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and visit the sick and the goats do none of these things. We will look at that story in the context of waiting and using our talents, and will talk about how we can serve others, Rev. Diane will help us explore this topic in a sermon titled, "Messy Ministry," based on Matthew 25: 31-46. See you Sunday, in person or online!

Join us this Sunday, November 5 for a celebration of the “saints” who have helped us grow in faith throughout our lives. We will remeber the lives of Kris Jensen and Martha Ann Wages, and we will have a special opportunity for everyone to reflect on and honor the saints in your own life.Rev. Teresa will also help us explore ways to be authentic in our faith. Jesus speaks to the crowds and the disciples about the hypocrisy of the Scribes and the Pharisees. They put themselves above others because they know more about the laws of the Torah and they preach what people should do while they themselves do not follow the teachings. Jesus warns us to be authentic in our behaviors and thoughts and to watch out for the hypocrisy of others. Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians shows great praise for the church member’s faith. He has ample reason to express thanks for them in his prayers. He does not doubt God’s work in them. Yet he finds a way to challenge them to become the light in what they have become and show hope. God seeks us to show hope even when we find it difficult to find hope. This Sunday, Rev. This Sunday, we will take a look at one of Jesus’s miracles, the healing of the 10 lepers. Jesus healed 10 men with leprosy, nine Jews and one Samaritan – and the Samaritan was the one who responded in gratitude. Rev. Jesus did much of his teaching through parables, stories that used everyday things to teach important faith lessons. Some of the parables are easy to understand; others are more challenging. This Sunday, we will take a look at one of the more challenging ones, the Parable of the Wicked Tenants in the vineyard. Rev.
