    Everything Food

Hey, it's Addy! We know it’s been a minute since our last episode… we had spring break and a some midterms to deal with but we’re back and better than ever with a new episode, “Everything Food."  Esther and I share a deep passion for all things food-related, so you can imagine our excitement when we snagged a chance to chat with Dr. Marion Nestle, a distinguished authority in food studies and how politics affects our food system. We had so many questions that we ran out of time, but we were able to cover our most burning queries, like how our food choices intersect with larger societal issues, how to ethically grocery shop, and why college dining is so capital N narsty. Marion gave us a lot to think about and we hope you’ll enjoy listening to our convo as much as we enjoyed having it! A little bit about our special guest, Dr. Marion Nestle: Marion is a professor of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health, Emerita, at New York University. She has won numerous awards and honorary degrees and has written a dozen books on food studies from food politics to pet food politics. Her most recent book, “Slow Cooked” is a memoir that tells the story of how she built a career in food studies at a time when few women worked in the sciences. Her most recent film appearance was in the just released sequel, Food Inc 2, a documentary that focuses on the anti-trust and monopoly issues encountered in our agricultural system. She also blogs 5 days a week at her website, foodpolitics.com. Produced by Addy, Esther, Matty Rosenberg, and Jennifer Hammoud @ Radio Free Rhinecliff We wanna hear from you!!
