Rhonda Delaney ~ WAIT! Where are you going?
Mass exodus happening?
Too much "I'm giving my 2 weeks notice" going on?
Are you surprised?
Yes?
Well that sucks!
This week on Leadership Simplified I chat about ideas to stop the flow of 2 weekitis by identifying the #1 most likely culprit...YOU!
It has been documented in the HR industry for years and years that people leave a Bad Manger, not a Company
I'm guessing the Pandemic/Lockdowns/Hybrid work environment put a magnifying glass on how critical communication is.
Their team no longer feels confident and clear about what their tasks are, where the company is going and how they're doing in their role.
Uncertainty breeds Fear
Uncertainty breeds Resentment
Uncertainty breeds Dissatisfaction
Let's change the status of COMMUNICATION to your BEST SKILL! -
Jared Narlock ~ Are You Self Preserving or Serving Others?
When's the last time you had that "out of body" experience, watching a situation go south, back away, trying valiantly to remove yourself from the proximity of blow back?
You felt quite justified because this was NOT your lane. It was someone else's.
AND THEN,
you were absolutely disgusted with your response.
It didn't align with your values, who you are and how you think of yourself.
After all, you're the one that runs into a burning building NOT stands on the side line letting everyone else do all the heavy lifting.
This week on Leadership Simplified, Jared Narlock, gives us insight and tips to navigate through self-serving to serving others.
He talks specifically about the Ladder of Accountability, and how to use it to explore where you're at in the story you're telling yourself.
Here's an exercise, write down everything you believe is true about a situation and then systematically ask some questions.
What do I believe?
Why do I think that?
Is that true?
What is my responsibility in this story?
Holding ourselves accountable for the stories going on inside our head helps us move towards neutral.
Neutral is where solid effective decision making happens.
We're master storytellers when it comes to the conversation inside our head, between our ears!
Challenge the stories, you'll be glad you did. -
Rhonda Delaney ~ Leadership Lessons from Tablescapes, Placecards & Laughter
This week on the podcast I talk about Connectivity and why it matters.
Welcoming guests into your home is similar to having a REAL open door policy at work.
Rise up from your chair and smile when they enter, timely response to email or text, serving them and their needs, welcoming the interaction.
Ponder for a moment, what action, word or atmosphere invites you to feel connected?
Get specific.
Happy CONNECTED teams = Workplace Utopia.
Does your team know what makes you feel connected?
SHARE WITH THEM!
The more everyone knows about each other the more connected you'll all be and then MAGIC happens.
Let's get intentional with creating an atmosphere that is inviting, exhilarating and filled with laughter and camaraderie.
