Talked Way Too Much About Water (Episode 11)

Our Hosts reunite to share their opinions about the artists Malik, Phaydo, and Rexxlife Raj. They share similar opinions in the some of their ability to stand out as artists. They still recognize the potential each of them has and hope to see them evolve. They geek out over Rexx Life Raj (rightfully so) and talk way too long about water. Enjoy

New Ken on the Block (Episode 10)

The guys listen to 3 more artist going farther in the journey through the Underground. Bars rain from the headphones this week. These three extremely talented artists have a gift with words but aren’t limited to that. The diversity is there for all of them, and stardom is inevitable. We also have a new host “Kenny The Scholar” being the most researched and thorough of the 4. His new nickname represents the level of articulation he brings when reviewing artist and reacting to songs. We are happy to share this underrated music with a new guest. They talk about the new XXL Freshmen Cyphers, share how their listening strategy while reviewing artists and tell stories some songs remind them of. Watch until the end to see who they choose to review for our next 3 artists.

Learning more about the Underground (Episode 9)

Learning more about the Underground (Episode 9)

“B Nasty” and the “Middle Child” fly solo on the 9th episode of our underground journey. They tell you how they feel about the three we reviewed (Surf Skrt, Gunnr and Coast Contra) and had a clear favorite. I made the mistake of putting a classic sounding group with newer wave artist. I feel because of our infinite love of old-school Hip Hop I think it can be a bit distracting. Regardless of the mix of styles all artist received legitimate praise. The crew also reacts to 5 bar spitters but only 3 can be reviewed next episode. Watch to the end to see them make one of the hardest decisions they’ve had to yet.

Straight Bars From These 3 (Episode 7)

Straight Bars From These 3 (Episode 7)

The hosts discuss their time at the DMV Fest. The room we got, the acts that preformed, what we liked and what we wished for the next one. The opinions and critiques were very real and geared toward advice. They discuss the worry for the lack of audience these talented artists have and why they deserve more. These artists show the bars are alive and well in Underground Hip Hop. The love for these rappers is real but listen to what they have to say yourself.
