Hi! I'm Ellie and stories make me feel stronger. I've recently started my adult life and I find so much comfort in the vulnerability of the people around me. Let's Not Wait is a podcast about navigating life before you know where you're going and on this show, I will explore the ways in which we create our lives from the ground up. The pressure to start life right has the ability to trigger analysis paralysis but let's not wait for the perfect moment to just try. There are no experts to be found in these episodes, just powerful people figuring it out as they go.

    Quiet Endings

    Quiet Endings

Crossing the finish line should be celebrated. It doesn't matter if if the race was a few miles long or if the end came after a thirty year career, there should be a chance to celebrate the accomplishments of those we love. The spring of 2020 has been a time of quiet and uncelebrated endings for many who are graduating or moving on. Todd Carstenn is an IB English and Theory of Knowledge teacher who will leave his classroom for the last time this spring, yet it looks nothing like he anticipated. This episode explores the feelings of sitting in discomfort and creating your own ending.

    Developing Identity

The transition from childhood to adulthood happens gradually at first and suddenly picks up speed. In such a rapidly changing season, it can be hard to know which pieces of identity to hold on. In this episode, Kyle and I will be unpacking the complicated ways in which identity forms and how uncomfortable it may feel in the meantime.

    Adult Hobbies

    Adult Hobbies

When the structure of high school involvement fades away, how do we develop hobbies for our adult selves? Work schedules can take all of our attention and before we know it, we’re re-watching Parks and Rec every night on the couch. On the show today, Emily Cardinali  breaks down the gap between an interest and a fully fleshed out hobby so we can all make our lives a little more full.

Natural conversation made my commute fly by

I downloaded some more to listen to after the episode with Emily C. on hobbies! Ellie is an incredible host. There is just something about listening to two intelligent young adults talk about breadmaking and pottery (and letting go of fear/shame) that was just so pleasant. Looking forward to the next episode(s)! 😊
