Just So Good
I love this podcast. So simple, but so so good!
So good -simple and powerful!
Love this simple and powerful way to bring encouragement and hope to my day! Highly recommend even if you don’t normally read the Bible, if you’ve been burned by church or hypocrisy of Christians, or just need some encouragement/new perspective.
Contrary to what is often portrayed in culture/media, Jesus came to create clarity/ and demonstrate God is full of love and compassion for all humankind! So often people take short portions of scripture and view or present them through a lens that is out of context, taken literally when not intended that way, or based out of hurt/control (This can be done with just about any text). This unfortunately misrepresents WHO JESUS REALLY IS.
Listen in to hear straight from the source!
(Sidenote, the Bible has astounding historical accuracy! It also has very diverse writing styles. Many stories, parables, & some but NOT everything is literal. Examples of people messing things up, songs & poems etc. If something doesn’t make sense, lean in to understanding the context, and who it was written to, why, etc. The book of Job, for example, is written in a very story like format- could it be this was a story about God‘s character- many scholars believe so. Listening to bigger sections at a time like this can help us recognize the bigger story of God's love throughout the whole Bible that is common, ultimately displayed in Jesus’ sacrifice for us, & give space for the unknowns that are sometimes confusing!)
Transformed My Devotion Time
I had a habit of reading a few random verses each morning, praying and running into my day. After listening to this podcast, I’m reading a full chapter of the Bible, spending time to meditate on it, then praying. What a difference! I’m getting so much more through this Bible reading plan.
