Welcome to the 'Let's Talk Mental Health' show, whose aim is to Educate, Inspire and Empower people, to better manage their own Mental Health. Your host is me, Nick Wilson, an Army Veteran turned Mental Health professional, Speaker, Author and obviously, Podcaster, who is very genuine, "Raw yet Real" and sarcastic!

I will be speaking very openly about my own mental health journey and shall also be speaking with Guests on their thoughts, experiences and perceptions. I want to provide YOU the listener with: valuable information and suggestions that could assist you, hints & tips, accounts of successes & regrets, whilst tackling stigma, one episode at a time.

I would love for the show to be interactive with yourselves, so please send in all and any questions, queries or comments, the good, the bad and the 'fugly', get them over to me and either myself or the guest will do our best to answer them.

**It is going to be very honest, 'raw yet real', though informative and some accounts could be found to be distressing, so PLEASE bare this in mind before listening to any episode. Also, this is NOT a therapy or counselling session, so we will NOT be giving advice or telling ANYONE what to do, this is simply a platform for sharing lived experiences, whilst tackling stigma.**

    How To Embrace Change

    How To Embrace Change

This episode, I talk about change leading to insecurities, the impact it can have on a person, how to recognise whether an individual you know is struggling with or has been impacted by change and what happened to me, after deflecting the problems, failing to face the issues and deal with them.

I talk about Resilience and how it can aide you with facing change, though the other tools you want to accompany it in your tool box, are that of Mindset and Mindfulness. These three combined with a greater understanding of how we perceive life, will empower you to begin accepting and embracing change, regardless of how big that change may be.

The link you require for the animated video I talk about, namely: NLP Communication Model, you can view on my YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFTlr1rvVWI57J9UEMa1x0w alog with some other very useful and interesting videos. check them out.

    Managing Expectations

    Managing Expectations

We ALL have Expectations of work, family, friends, love, marriage, life, just like you all have your own individual perceptions/thoughts of them and the power to manage our expectations is held within us.

Finding a way to manage your expectations will be SO important over the coming months and you all CAN do it, though bare in mind it can be harder than you think at times. Ask yourself this; how often do you make expectations of those around you, friends, family, work colleagues or even YOURSELF?

Take your time and write it down, you might just be surprised, then ask yourself; were they reasonable expectations? How about from THEIR point of view?

    Covid19, What The Hell?

In this special edition episode, you will gain hints and tips on how to better manage your own mental wellbeing during these challenging times and on into the future. We introduce you to Self Management, breaking it down into Self-Awareness, Self-Care and Self-Help, explaining how this helps you and how exactly you best achieve this.

These ARE challenging times for sure, so if you have anything specific you wish to know about, questions, queries or complaints, then PLEASE do get in touch and I will do everything I possibly can to assist you, through future shows. I will also be launching an online Mens Health Support Group, where you can still interact, have your say, listen to others and gain support, so keep an eye out for that along with our new website which should be launched the last week in March.
