In the six volumes of the Library of the World's Best Mystery and Detective Stories, Julian Hawthorne presents us thrilling and mysterious short stories from all corners of the world. Some of the stories appeared in this collection for the first time translated into English, and many of them come from unexpected sources, such as the letters of Pliny the Younger, or a Tibetan manuscript. In the third volume, we find stories written by English and Irish authors. (Summary by Leni)

Great stories, good readers

Each story is read by a different individual, so the voices and recording quality varies. Over all the readers do a fine job, I would recommend they pre-read their selections (if they don't) so as to address pronunciation difficulties prior to recording.
Some people read faster, slower, with and without accents, character voices etc. My only complaint is my pet peeve, people mispronouncing words (not regional dialects mind, but actual errors.)
Overall the books are highly enjoyable. A few readers are professional quality.

Smacks of Lacks

Unfortunately the reader struggles with the classic prose. His lip smacking is very distracting and slightly annoying. After 3 min I had to abort.
