    22. Reconnecting with our Soul's Desired and Gifts Pt. 3

    22. Reconnecting with our Soul's Desired and Gifts Pt. 3

Welcome to Pt. 3 of the series about reconnecting with our souls’ desires and gifts on the ‘Licensed Psychologist, Now What?’ Podcast! Today I am sharing the HOW. After getting out what was in the way and finding out what our gifts are we will now talk about practices and ways to remember and reclaim these gifts.

Some ways to reconnect and remember our MEDICINAS are:

Through meditation. If you have a hard time with meditation, please check out Episode 74 (Mental Health Respite, a Coping Skills Experiential Episode) of my other podcast, 'The Beyond Resilience Life', where I share a guided meditation.
Ancestral practices; finding out about our lineage or exploring where we come from.
     Resting
     Movement
Healing practices like therapy or journaling.

Within these are so many different options and the most important thing is to choose the ones we enjoy so we can really put them into action.

    21. Reconnecting with our Soul's Desired and Gifts Pt. 2

Today on ‘Licensed Psychologist, Now What?’ Podcast we are continuing with the second of the three-part series, where I talk about my experience in reconnecting with the gifts and desires that drive our Soul. Part 2 I talk about the ways to find out what gifts you can bring to the table, and how do we do this? First, we started with the assessment, now we are exploring it and lastly, we will be creating a plan because now that we have established what gets in the way we can take care of those and move on to the next step.

    Some of today’s questions are:

Do you know your gifts and medicinas?
Are you ready to bring forth your gifts and medicinas?
Can you define your gifts and medicinas?

    20. Reconnecting with our Soul's Desired and Gifts Pt. 1

    20. Reconnecting with our Soul's Desired and Gifts Pt. 1

Today on ‘Licensed Psychologist, Now What?’ Podcast I am presenting you a three-part series where I talk about my experience in reconnecting with the gifts and desires that drive our Soul. Pt. 1 is about finding what gets in the way because if we can’t clear out the things that get in the way of finding what our soul desires it is going to be a lot harder to find or reclaim our gifts/medicine or how I like to call it, your medicinas.

We start with an assessment and some of the questions I ask are:

Where do you come from? Who are your ancestors? What land do you come from? What is your lineage?
How do my ancestors' influences impact my soul’s desires?
When I think of my gifts/medicina, what comes to mind?

    19. Rediscovering Our Sense of Belonging

    19. Rediscovering Our Sense of Belonging

Today on ‘Licensed Psychologist, Now What? Podcast’ I have the honor and privilege to introduce you to Becca Piastrelli @beccapiastrelli, fellow mama, author, and podcaster.

This was a special interview for me because I received a message about Becca being interested in coming on my podcast and I already knew her work and book and loved her message so I couldn’t believe she wanted to talk to me, a real star-struck moment for sure!

Our conversation centered around her book: ‘Root & Ritual’ which came out in November of 2021. We also talked about all things about becoming a mama during the pandemic and how the feeling of belonging felt absent for so many but in our case, it hit closer to home as we were women living through a major milestone which is welcoming motherhood. Having a baby during this difficult time without access to the community made it so much harder, so, for me in particular listening to these messages of belonging that she shares was needed now more than ever.

It’s so important for a person to feel they belong, doesn’t matter the season they are in, to one-self, to a community, the importance to find this sense of belonging can help us move forward and live a better life.

To find out more about Becca you can follow her on Instagram, check out her website, listen to her podcast or you can read her book: Root & Ritual.

    18. Nature Therapy with Diana Lleras, LPC

Today on ‘Licensed Psychologist, Now What? Podcast’ I have the honor and privilege to introduce to you to Diana Lleras, LPC @consejeria_caringandhealing. She is a licensed Professional Counselor and a fellow Latina who lives and has her practice in Georgia.

We talk about the many different ways Nature can help us, how we are wired to feel calmer when we are out in nature and how our senses activate when we are mindful of our connection to Mother Nature. She shared amazing information that she has been able to implement in her practice like the nutritional and spiritual, healing aspects of nature.

Diana also reminds us there are simple ways we can find to connect with nature even if we are just at home, or working, because nature is all around us.

I would love to hear what ways you have been able to connect with nature. What works best for you?

To learn more about Diana you can find her on Instagram or via the LatinX Therapy Directory.

    17. Reclaiming your Medicine and Embracing Ancestral Lineages with Asha Frost

    17. Reclaiming your Medicine and Embracing Ancestral Lineages with Asha Frost

This episode of ‘Licensed psychologist, Now What? Podcast is being published on the Winter Solstice (a couple day earlier than the usual schedule). There are a few reasons for that but one of the most important ones was because of my guest on the show today. She is a very special person and one of the most inspiring person’s I have met. Through her teachings I am learning to honor the season changes especially the darkness that involves the Winter Solstice. This year in particular I had a lot of releasing of old patterns, and I have confronted a lot of uncertainty. My old self would have tried to figure out the issues and kept going but this time, especially this year I have allowed myself to sit in the darkness, to explore the unknown, I have allowed my body and mind to rest and to really listen to the inner voice that guides my life.  Today it is my honor and privilege to introduce you to Asha Frost, @asha.frost, Indigenous Healer.

On this amazing interview we talk about her journey, her struggles, what brought her into her calling and how she felt the need to answer the call from her ancestors.

Her message of dismantling and reclaiming our own space has resonated so profoundly with so many people and to be able to help spread her message in this space was very important for me because of how much it has helped me personally.

To learn more about Asha’s work please check out her Website , find her on  Instagram or sign up to pre-order her Book, ‘You are the Medicine' through this Link

MindfulGal ,

Wealth of knowledge

Dr. Lydiana is doing a phenomenal job at building this great resource for all Psychotherapists, aspiring, in the making and current. Listening to these episodes has resulted inspirational and validating for me!

Confused

I listened to the podcast from 11/11 and had absolutely no idea what Dr. Lydiana’s guest was talking about. She sounded completely inept and barely let the host speak. I’m not the kind of person who leaves reviews but wow I’ve never been so confused are we sure this guest is actually a doctor? Sounds like she’s got her “degree” from online. She could barely form a sentence!

Pita M. ,

Phenomenal!

I’ve listened to the first three episodes so far and they’re great! As a licensed therapist I also find myself asking “now what?” because we’re taught to follow a certain type of road and be a certain type of therapist with certain types of clothing and ways of speaking. This podcast shows me that therapists come in all styles and I cannot wait to listen to other therapists and their offerings that go against the “norm.”
