While I think that Kat has the history needed to make this podcast more true to its bones, I feel like she doesn’t do great with sympathizing with the guest or audience. She uses the term “that’s actually kind of funny, because I havnt looked at it that way” or how ever she decides to work it each time. I have been looking for a great podcast that I can listen to on my hour drive to and from school, work and where I live. The first episode I was thinking the whole time ‘wow I’d love to be able to be the one on the other end, so I can finally share my story that I’ve kept so deeply tucked away for almost 9 years, but then the more I listen it doesn’t seem that I’d find it as enjoyable as I thought. Don’t get me wrong, Kat seems wonderful, just her presentation of emotions related to what the guest is saying doesnt seem fitting for the type of podcast she is hosting. The last thing that bothers me is that Kat always has some simple feedback, where in a podcast like this I would have expected more story sharing, and when someone tells her about the loneliness they feel, it’d make more sense to me for Kat to respond back with, “I’m sorry you’re feeling so alone in such a rough period of your life, I have found that reading this book, or doing this thing has really helped me cope” or something of the sort.

But I am very proud of Kat for overcoming and fighting the worst battle a daughter can fight everyday, and that is indeed living without your mother.

She lost me at “ grief is a choice “ and lost me again by judging a father who lost his wife and re married. Un subscribing
