Dan cracks open another collaboration beer from Threes. This time, it’s their first American Pilsner with Green Bench, Wish You Were Here.

Threes Brewing Wish You Were Here

STYLE: American Pilsner INGREDIENTS: Pilsner malt, New York corn, Carolina Gold rice, with American Mt. Hood and Crystal hopsABV: 5.0%IBU: N/AAVAILABILITY: 16oz Cans, Draft (Limited)COLLABORATION: Green Bench Brewing CompanyStats above taken from the brewery’s can and website.

Appearance

Super clear and gold in color with a half-inch, fluffy, white head.

Aroma

A mix of earthy, fruity, and herbal notes with lemon, earthy spice a la sage, and some residual sweetness a la Asian pear.

Taste

Corn-sweet notes hit along with earthy/floral notes from the hops with a lovely minerality.

Mouthfeel

Fairly dry on the finish with a smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation.

Overall

This was a unique brew from Threes, who generally trends German with a splash of Czech with their lagers. Pairing-wise, you could go a number of different directions, but I was craving a grain bowl with farro or quinoa and sweet potato etc.

Cheers and remember:

Life’s a tap…drink up ’til it’s dry.
