Dan pops open Other Ephemera, a hoppy lager made with pilsner malt, malted wheat and Vista and Moutere hops, from Threes Brewing.

Threes Brewing Other Ephemera

STYLE: Hoppy Lager INGREDIENTS: Premium Pilsner malt, Malted Wheat; Vista, NZ Moutere hopsABV: 4.8%IBU: N/AAVAILABILITY: 16oz Cans, Draft (Limited)Stats above taken from the brewery’s can and website.

Appearance

Medium yellow/gold with a fluffy, white head of mixed-sized bubles.

Aroma

Fruit dominate the nose, with a mix of lime, melon, and candied kiwi, followed by a hint of dankness.

Taste

Lime really comes through from the nose to the palate with a floral note rejoining a residual melon before a hint of hop bitterness on the finish.

Mouthfeel

Light mouthfeel and fairly dry with a pleasant carbonation.

Overall

This is a really intriguing but lighter lager that really showcases the hops. I was feeling Chicken Satay or peanut sauce-based dish for pairing.

Cheers and remember:

Life’s a tap…drink up ’til it’s dry.
