Welcome to Life’s a REC! Does the title hit a little too close to home? That’s the point. In this brand-new, interview-based therapy podcast (with jokes!), two friends go on a pop culture odyssey to try to better understand each other, and the REC that is life.
Join us every week as we discuss topics of conversation in a (sometimes failed) attempt to root out deep troubles, traumas, and life stories from another in the hopes of becoming better friends. Follow along as we deal with each other and discover just how much life is nothing more than a series of Reactions to Educational Conversations with one another.

23: Magic the Blathering
What is Magic? Is it all sorcerers, and illusionists, or is it another word for something we experience? Bryan asks David about what he thinks about magic, and off topic we go when it comes to the importance of writing, and the importance of watching too much violence as a kid. Let’s dive deeper into the twisting mind of author and Magic the Gathering pro DAVID and explore his lack of wonderment. Grab your magic three rings, pull that rabbit out of your hat, and deal out those magic cards because it's in an ALAKAMAZING episode! PRESTIGE!

22: Event Body Horizon Parts
You probably don’t remember the philosophically-astute observations of the 90’s horror thriller Body Parts with Jeff Fahey, but Bryan and David do, and it stirs some ancient roots in their assumptions about good (Sam Neil from Event Horizon) and bad (Sam Neil from Event Horizon). Basically, if you love Sam Neil, without the Jurassic Park talk, you have found your home. Riding that Easter train we dive into how we manifest, believe, or understand the concept of good and evil in our lives, AND in Event Horizon. Come for the emotional development. stay for that SAM NEIL!

21: Slasher Jesus and Chocolate Blood
Even the combination of words in this title don’t do justice to just how much random material Bryan and David get out of discussing Easter. It turns into a debate about slasher Jesus, sure, but we get personal too. Eventually. Grab those GRAND BUNNIES, chocolate eggs, and cozy up with conversation you probably don't need, but we love that you're here with us. A24 may just have put out Everything Everywhere All at Once but just WAIT till they hear OUR pitch for the next holiday blockbuster. Come for the chocolate and stay for Zombie Jesus.

20: The Slappening
You’ve heard all the hot takes, bad takes, and lukewarm takes there is to hear about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock. But you haven’t heard two men talk about what the slap meant to the Back in the Day parental violence we suffered from, and maybe grew from. We discuss everything from the Oscars to chanclas, yeah it's one of THOSE episodes.

19: William Hurt R.I.P.
We look back on the work of the late great William Hurt, ranging from Altered States to the 1996 classic Michael. David discovers his origins in being attracted to older women while Bryan continues seeking validation from movie dads. Do we place celebrities on pedestals? Should we look to ourselves for true stability? Should we just discuss more Trespass? These questions and more in today's episode.

18: The Boys and the Bat
If you thought we were being ironic about the “hate” we have for each other, this episode is for you. Bryan and David trade ‘chingasos’ because David is too jaded to enjoy a well-done superhero film, and Bryan is too enthusiastic to criticize an awful cameo. Come for the Batman discussion. Stay for the Trespass.

Funny boys
They’re so kind to each other. I love it. They both wanted to be the husband so neither one of them was the bottom. Bold of them to assume that all husbands are tops.
