Liftoff is a fortnightly podcast about space, the universe, and everything. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to understand the latest developments as explained by enthusiastic space fans Stephen Hackett and Jason Snell. Hosted by Jason Snell and Stephen Hackett.
Space Suits as a Service
With its Ingenuity Mars Helicopter's first flight compete, NASA has made history, opening the door to missions beyond landers and rovers. Also: what SpaceX's Human Landing System contract means for the SLS and the future of NASA leadership.
Astronaut To Be Named Later
This fortnight, Jason and Stephen discuss traffic management at the International Space Station, upgrades to KSC's ground systems in preparation for SLS and the instruments that will fly with Europa Clipper.
The SLS has completed a full-length hot fire test and NASA is on the verge of having a new administrator, all while SpaceX continue to move ahead with its Starship testing.
March is here, and it brings with it a lot of space news. On Mars, Perseverance is busy with a lot of firsts, even as Insight says goodbye to an old friend. SpaceX keeps churning out test vehicles as the SLS program readies for a second hot fire test.
Elon Being Elon and the Early Days of SpaceX, with Eric Berger
Jason and Stephen are joined by Eric Berger to discuss his new book *Liftoff,* which covers the origins of SpaceX. Eric is the Senior Space Editor at Ars Technica and the book comes out on March 2.
The Perseverance Landing and "For All Mankind" with Ron Moore
On this bonus episode, Jason and Stephen speak with Ron Moore, co-creator, writer and producer of *For All Mankind.* Topics covered include the challenges writing for a parallel timeline and a bit about episode 1 of the new season after a spoiler warning.
Older episodes hold up well
The earlier episodes often give introductions to topics in a way that normal people can understand. If you are interested n space and related subjects, then you can listen to these primers, get entertained and informed, and have a significant backlog of episodes that are still relevant. Plus, new episodes keep you up to date on recent developments.
This Podcast Is A Must For Space Fans
This is a fantastic podcast that presents space news and space history in a great way. They talk about commercial space, NASA, international space news and space history. The hosts are great and overall they make this one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. Keep up the great work yall!
The Space Podcast for Enthusiasts
This is a great podcast hosted by two professional communicators that squarely hits the sweet spot between general understanding and technical detail of all things SPACE. The hosts keep the discussions well above the 6th grade common denominator of news paper stories yet accessible to listeners who are not working in aerospace.
Each episode of this biweekly (fortnightly) podcast starts with a roundup of recent space news before embarking on a deep dive into one or more meaty space topics. There have been a couple of guests so far with expertise in some aspect of space and they plan on having many more.
New episodes of this podcast go straight to the top of my listening cue as soon as they are posted. Not to be missed.
