Poor recording

Why would you mic audience? Why not mic the speaker? Try this next time. Sounds like a sea of white noise in the room punctuated by explosive applause, speaker is inAudible

The lecturer was inaudible with lots of ruffling around the mike making it close to unbearable to sit through.
