Alex Smallman, Founder of Ubermmumies online fitness community

“The bloodline of Ubermummies is friendship and bringing people together”

I can frequently be found at 6.30 in the morning in front of Alex's online exercise classes. My body (and positivity) has been transformed since I signed up with Ubermummies, Alex's health and fitness business.

From being the owner of a successful construction company for ten years, she found herself at rock bottom when a broken relationship left her without direction and without her business. 18 months on her back after spinal surgery involved a slow physical recovery but a chance to figure out a new path. The Ubermummies community is growing and Alex is as determined as ever to make an impact on women wanting to become their best self.

    Some questions I ask:

    • Where did your ability to be brave come from?
    • What happens next when your life has become a car crash?
    • How did Ubermummies evolve and go online in 2020?

In this episode, you will learn:

    • Life is about timing and things stacking up when they are meant to!
    • We are all in charge of our own destiny but if you're not happy, know that everything will work out.
    • How other people can sometimes see you more clearly than you can see yourself.
    • The positive energy of being in an empowering community of women.

    Alex’s 3 gems:

    • If you want something to be different, you have to get started in making that change.
    • Be consistent and keep showing up – the results will come.
    • Be collaborative and kind in everything that you do.

Dannielle Norman, Relationship Coach & Founder of The Heart Led

I just love Dannielle Norman’s energy. She’s the only person I know who says getting older is a good thing! A mindset and relationship coach, she has amazing insight. Her outlook really resonates with me, which is why I’m working with her on my own personal journey. In this podcast, we discuss what to do with pain, ADHD and why we should have more sex.

    Some questions we ask
    • How did you connect to your purpose?
    • What does it feel like to have combined ADHD and only get a diagnosis at 29?
    • How are you so wise about romantic relationships?

In this episode, you will learn
    • Breakthrough takes work. Coaches can offer support, but you have to be ready to do the hard work.
    • Age is good. It adds value - you’re learning new things and skills all the time.
    • Find your purpose, and you’ll find a way – it gives you a reason to keep going.
    • Pain is not the problem; it’s what you do with it.

    Dannielle’s 3 gems
    • In situations that keep you stuck - ask yourself, what am I not seeing?
    • Get in touch with your why – what do you want to leave behind?
    • Practise joy – and lots of [safe and consensual] sex. Do things that make you feel good.

Dr Joanna Martin, Founder of One of Many

Dr Joanna Martin, Founder of One of Many

Dr Joanna Martin says, “We’ve got to heal and make the difference – in parallel”

Life in a COVID world is tougher than ever. We need to take a stand for the vulnerable and that means doing more, not less – but how can we do it without burning out? This amazing woman has set up One of Many to support women make a difference in this world, alongside their roles as leaders, carers, sisters and friends.

    Some questions we ask

How did you get from zero to seven figures in 12 months?
What work did you have to put in, to succeed? Did you do it alone?
Are we working in our purpose? Because we never know when our time is up.
How can we take on more without burning out?
In this episode, you will learn

Success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s all about the work you put in.
Your body always points true north. It tells you what it needs.
COVID has highlighted the inequity in society. We have to make a stand for vulnerable people, and it can’t wait until we ourselves have recovered. We need to do it in parallel - without burning out.
    Jo’s 4 pillars

Fulfilment – we need something that brings meaning to our lives.

Relationships – we need that connection.

Wealth and the ability to handle money.

Vitality – we can’t do it if we’re burned out.

And the 5th emergency pillar: your network.

Jo says as long as you’ve got three stable pillars, or two plus a good network, then you’re good!

Bobbie Casalino Lewis, Style Expert & Image Specialist

Bobbie Casalino Lewis, Style Expert & Image Specialist

Bobbie makes me feel fearless. And that’s her intention. She says, ‘Dress for the day you want, not the day you were given’

She was one of the first people to break through the glass ceiling on Wall Street in the 1980s (and get her very own corner office with a view!) and she’s had two amazing careers. But she says it took 70 years to get from survive to thrive. She’s written a book to share her wisdom and help women shortcut that journey - so they can thrive earlier in their lives, and for longer.

In this episode, you will learn
    • We make a mental decision about someone in seven seconds.
    • It's scientifically proven that clothes can also change how you feel about yourself.
    • Most people have it all in their wardrobe. It’s just they need a different set of eyes on it.
    • How you dress sets the tone – even for Zoom meetings.

    Some questions I ask:
How did you break through the glass ceiling on Wall Street in the 1980s?
What was Wall Street like in the 1970s?
How did you deal with harassment at work?
How do you help people transform their style?
It can be scary showing up. How do you help people feel fearless?

Lucy Hutchings Hunt speaks to Aarti Parmar, Founder of Boost your Brand online courses about Brand Mindfulness.

Aarti Parmar believes a brand must be clear on the inside to shine on the outside. I could not agree with her more. She started a creative agency when she was only 24, which led to a 15-year journey in branding and mindfulness. Her brand mindfulness concept evolved, and she’s using it to help small businesses build beautiful brands – inside and out.

    • A brand must be authentic if you want people to connect with it.
    • It’s easy to copy a brand, but it’s harder to copy its vibe and energy - it needs that uniqueness to survive.
    • You don’t have to be rich. There is free help out there.

    Aarti’s gems
    • The worst anyone can ever say is no. Ask questions, be curious
    • Everything happens for a reason
