🎙️"Living From Your Art" Podcast - Interview #4 - Kasandra Vargas, Ventriloquist

Kasandra Vargas Bio:Like most kids in the 90's, I grew up watching educational puppet programs like Zabomafoo, LambChops PlayAlong, and of course Mister Rodgers Neighborhood. I never picked up a puppet until 2019. In 2019 I worked for Fish and Wildlife tried to find a way to connect with kids and the way I remember adults connecting with me through the media was with puppets. So, I taught myself the art of ventriloquism by practicing hours in front of a mirror and while driving in the car no I never looked in the mirror when I was driving just did my best not to move my lips. I was making videos on Youtube but knew I wanted to start my own business then in November 2021 I got my busies coach Elie, with his help he has made me into a professional ventriloquist. Now I perform for libraries, daycares and museums. AND I LOVE WHAT I DO !

🎙️"Living From Your Art" Podcast - Interview #2 - Jordan Perkins, Painter

"My name is Jordan Perkins and I am a full-time artist. It all started in 2015 in Castlegar, BC."I was 35 years old and trying to fill the afternoon with a fun activity for my daughter and I. We took a trip to the local dollar store and loaded up with every paint color and canvas. Let me tell you, it was a fun day but my painting was nothing to be proud of. That was until my daughter asked if she could hang it in her room."That was it!"I felt amazing and had a great time painting simple silhouette-style paintings with her. As time went on I discovered new techniques, and supplies and kept trying to create my best painting yet. Here we are today as I spill my paints in search of my best piece. Now 42 and working full-time as an artist I specialize in large colourful bold pieces that will make a center piece in the room."

Great Information!

Great information! As an artist I am always looking to find ways to increase my sales and share my music, writing and other creative work I do. I first purchased the book which had fantastic information on how to work through the process of building more clients. Now, the podcast helps to enhance to the information and provides more information. Great work Elie! Thank you!

Simple Strategy

Thanks for helping me understand the importance of direct face-to-face and one-on-one communication. I realize now that I often rely too heavily on email, social media and blog posts to promote my work. I implemented some of Elie’s strategies today with great success on a zoom call with a student. I will be following up with students, potential students and art client's individually and visually from now on.
