    If you ask Stephanie Arnett, PharmD, about her passions, you might expect her answer to include something about helping others. You’d be right, but maybe not necessarily in the ways you’d expect. A pharmacist turned academic career professional and mentor, Dr. Arnett dedicates her time to guiding Purdue Pharmacy students as their small steps culminate with next giant leaps into their careers. Originally from Illinois, Dr. Arnett’s career journey began in Kentucky, where she made a profound impact on rural communities with her focus on caring for diabetic patients. As her career evolved, she transitioned into management in retail pharmacy, honing her leadership and mentorship skills—skills that would become the foundation for her next chapter. Today, Dr. Arnett serves as the Director of Student Career Development and Engagement at the Purdue College of Pharmacy. In this role, she does more than just guide students toward career success—she helps them uncover their “why,” encouraging them to explore their passions and preparing them for a future of meaningful impact.     Passing the Baton: Meet Alex McQuade

    It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through Season Two of Living the Pharm Life! The time has flown by, and we are incredibly grateful for our listeners. You have encouraged us to keep producing standout episodes with guests whose stories inspire others to dare to dream—after all, that’s what living the Purdue pharm life is all about. This season also marks a transition. Inaugural host Isabella Tobin is heading into her fourth professional year, which means embarking on a series of rotations around Indiana and beyond. Isabella took the small idea of a podcast and elevated it to something impactful and lasting. She laid the foundation with true Boilermaker perseverance, and we can’t thank her enough for her creativity and dedication to the project. She now passes the baton to Alex McQuade, a third-year PharmD student from Pennsylvania. Alex brings enthusiasm and a fresh perspective to the podcast. His curiosity and drive to explore the pharmacy profession while telling impactful stories make him the perfect voice to carry the podcast forward.     From Football to Pharmacy: Warren Moore’s Journey from Boilermaker to Board Room

    Talk about taking giant leaps! Warren Moore embodies the Boilermaker spirit every single day. A 2002 PharmD graduate from Purdue’s College of Pharmacy, Warren brought the lessons he learned as both a pharmacy student and a Division I college football player into every chapter of his career. In this episode, he reflects on his decision to attend Purdue, showing up as a freshman for football camp, finding his stride as a pharmacy student, and culminating his college career playing in the legendary Rose Bowl. Balancing classes and football wasn’t easy, but it helped him build the discipline and grit that continue to shape his leadership style. Additionally, Warren shares practical advice for students—like successful time management, ways to stay motivated, and how to continuously adapt in a fast-changing field like pharmacy. He also dives into his impressive career journey at Walmart, from working in-store to taking on executive leadership roles. As the former VP of Social Determinants of Health Actions, he focused on making healthcare more equitable. Now, as VP of Dedicated Delivery, he’s taken a bold pivot from traditional pharmacy to lead innovation—using tech and data to improve how Walmart serves people every day.

    Customized Care: Alumna Shows Compassion through Compounding

    From a young age, Lisa Taylor (PharmD 2004) knew she was destined for serving in the world of medicine. She hails from a family of healthcare providers—her dad a dentist, her mom a pharmacist, and most of her extended family in some form of medicine.  As a lover of science with a passion for serving others, the medical field just made sense. But with little desire to handle blood on a daily basis, pharmacy was the perfect fit. With several Boilermakers in the family, Lisa says Purdue’s PharmD program was the obvious choice. Now a compounding pharmacist, Lisa spends her days helping improve the health and lives of the people—and pets—in her community and beyond.
