As the title suggests, this program explores the nature of chronic illness from different behavioral health perspectives: describe how personality types, core beliefs, and behavioral habits affect chronic illness; what behaviors are the key factors in prevention of the most common chronic illnesses; how stress, anxiety, and depression influence chronic illnesses; what practical behavioral habits are useful for coping with disabling conditions like pain, cancer, arthritis, and other illnesses; and most important, ways to help individuals develop healthier habits in terms of nutrition, activity, preventive medical and dental care, and emotional well-being. Our guest for this episode is Dr. Michael Howard, a behavior health practitioner and health educator, who presents on topics related to disease prevention, understanding longevity and aging, and others to scores of health professionals around the country.
