Local Charm: The Move, the Reunion, the Record

Jesse Hubner from Victoria band Local Charm joins Inlet Wire to talk about the move to the coast that changed his songwriting — and the friendship that unexpectedly found its way back into the music.

Jesse and guitarist Shane first wrote together more than a decade ago before their lives went in different directions. Years later, Jesse’s move to Victoria brought them back together, with two of those early songs eventually finding a home on Local Charm’s self-titled album.

Jesse talks about why the songs started flowing after the move, how the record came together quickly once the band formed, recording ten vocal tracks back-to-back, and why “Get It Got It” became the song that means the most to him.
