It is well established in the literature that relationships of all types throughout our lifetime impact health and well being physically and psychologically. Research shows that most chronic diseases have lifestyle and environmental causes. Beginning in childhood and even prenatally, events and relationships the way in together which we interact with nature the world around us shape our state of health and happiness. Affection and aggression have profound implications on physical and emotional development, homeostasis and immune function.

How we are loved, how we love each other and how we love and care for ourselves not only impact chronic disease but also resilience, depression and anxiety, sleep issues and performance. Self-care is the true health care!

June 12th in Hope

I enjoyed the discussion on hope and the differentiation on types (& purposes) of hope. One thing they taught us in coaching school was about PEA’s - positive emotional attractors - aka the secret behind ‘the secret.’ A PEA is the emotion of the desired outcome to which the person striving towards the goal attaches to motive themself & drive their behavior. So if I want to loose 20 pounds, I see myself 20 pounds thinner and develop a joy around that image and then attach to the joy to drive my behavior.
Switching gears a little... I particularly appreciated the comment about hope & society. My hometown of Dayton, OH had it’s first (and last I pray) mass shooting this past weekend. My hope is for an improved collective conscience in society so this can END!
Thank you again!!!
