This week’s episode with Carlos Whittaker is so empowering.  He just released a book called “Enter Wild,” all about moving from safe and boring to living a wild-not-mild faith.  He has battled anxiety and shares some of the tools that have helped him overcome it; praying scripture over your life and promises instead of problems. He has become a voice we follow and respect so much when it comes to race and injustice in America.

Strong Isn’t Wrong with Lisa Bevere

Strong Isn’t Wrong with Lisa Bevere

Lisa has always been known for saying it like it is, and this podcast episode is no different.  We talked about everything from motherhood (she raised four boys) to why women have been fed the lie that being strong is wrong.  In her new devotional book ‘Strong,’  Lisa says, "Too often Christian women are associated with weakness rather than strength. Sometimes religion has taught us to hide rather than to rise. It is true that we are called to be meek, but not weak.”  Amen sister!

Authentic and inspiring

I so appreciate the authenticity, humility, and wisdom that Jodi and Chris bring to the podcast. Their words speak to me deeply, and encourage me to live out my faith in practical, daily ways. Thank you for inviting me on your journey; I feel like every time I sit with you God is working in my heart through your words and stories and I’m learning new things. I also have 2 young girls (ages 3 and 1) and work part time as a leader in an office setting, and am constantly looking for that elusive “balance” between kids, husband, work, etc. As a side note, my girls and I love your song “You Got This” and play it all the time. My 3 year old can sing along to it now and it’s just the cutest thing ever. Thank you for giving her such uplifting words to sing and shout!

Relatable

Their conversations and music are so relatable. I'm a free spirit and to see Jodi follow Jesus in her own free-spirited way is so inspiring. Plus, the chemistry between this couple is something I pray to God for. I want a relationship like theirs.
