Prophet of Freedom with David Blight

Prophet of Freedom with David Blight

On the 100 anniversary of the death of abolitionist, orator, critic and radical patriot Frederick Douglass, we revisit the Pulitzer Prize winning biography by David Blight.
In 2018, 200 years since the birth of Frederick Douglass, we received the first major biography of Douglass in a quarter century. Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom by prize-winning historian and Yale Professor David Blight is based on nearly a lifetime of research as well as letters and private documentation to which no biographer has previously had access. It’s this revealing collection that helped shed new light on Douglass, particularly in the latter third of his life.

Cycling and Podcasts

As I began my cycling across the country, and nope, not on an e-bike,I would like to say how much I enjoy listening to you and your varied guests. Our country’s landscape is quite beautiful but there are some really, really I mean really hot, boring and barren parts to to cycle thru. Your voices and content have helped me through those
miles. As a long time listener don’t quit on me; I have a few more months of cycling!
P.S. Yes, I can “be bribed ” with an ice cream/coffee if April does not want it😆Thank you, Michele Reichardt CA

Shorts - love it

I’m finding that I love the shorts format.
I also love the in depth author interviews.
. . . Love it all

Yay!

I love the new format! I also love greater coverage of really good fiction that I may have missed. Please continue. I’m what is euphemistically called a “mature reader” (74 glorious years of age). I am right at home with your podcast.
