Great podcast for young Asheville creatives!

I moved to Asheville when I was 18, and I’m 30 now. I’ve worked for 4 different family businesses here. I love hearing MIIA’s fresh take on Asheville culture from a newly transplanted perspective, it makes me appreciate what we have here more and motivates me during my commute to work. This podcast is easy to listen to, interesting and energizing. Thanks y’all!

Sense of Community

My wife, 3 year old daughter, and I are moving to Asheville next summer because we are looking for that nurturing sense of community that seems to be synonymous with life in Asheville. I stumbled upon your podcast while looking for interesting content on the culture of the city. I have loved hearing about your recent relocation to Asheville and embarking on a new life with all of the interesting and creative people the city fosters and uplifts. Being a woodworker and furniture maker myself, I’m excited to be around a community that embraces my talent and skill set. I was also psyched to hear that your favorite brewery was Burial beers. Tim, Doug, and Jess (the founders of Burial) are friends of mine from when they used to all live in Seattle (where my family currently resides). I’m excited to finally see their spaces in Asheville.
Anyway, keep up the great work, and I’ll be anxiously awaiting future podcasts!

Unique Approach

As an Asheville native, I appreciate the thorough approach and deeper angle to each interview conducted by Sarah and Tony. It’s way too easy to waft through town and only admire the facade of the city, without even acknowledging the history, not to mention the workload of preserving its charm. To hear the voices from behind the scenes has awakened a new desire in me to meet and thank the ones who build my hometown. Subscribed and excited to delve deeper with these guys!
