Episode 14 - The $%!# We Couldn’t Do (Discussing the Rules of Our Childhoods)

Episode 14 - The $%!# We Couldn’t Do (Discussing the Rules of Our Childhoods)

Growing up as a kid in a "Christian Home" can result is some interesting rules on what you can do, watch, listen to, or even say. Many things make sense in hindsight, but there are certainly still some questions to be asked. Would Harry Potter lead you down the road to witchcraft? Is rock music from the devil? Does dancing condemn your soul?  Listen along as the crew reminisces and attempts to justify their parent's rules.

It’s eavesdropping by invitation

The title and show graphic were a quick draw, but the content and style of the podcast are where the real fruit is at. It felt like I was sitting in a coffee shop, near a table of friends who I thought I’d be friends with. As I am drinking my coffee, I find myself listening more and more to their dialogue. Luckily this eavesdropping is by invitation since it is a podcast for listening. It is great to hear honest raw testimonies and the friends listening to the storyteller are great active listeners asking meaningful questions along the way. The show’s concept is based around an idea that many of us know but could put into practice more by “making old friends.” We might find, as these friends are finding, that we learn, grow, and are changed and encouraged in the process.
