Love These Gals Like Sisters!

Love these two gals! Every time I listen it’s like I’m having a convo with my sisters. I’m a member of their Patreon and it’s great—totally worth the small fee. Long episodes, lots of mall talk, and laughs. Love the movie/book review episodes. If you’re a listener, you must go to the show’s Instagram after each ep to see photos/videos references. Keep up the awesome mall talk!

Returns, Returns

I used to absolutely love the show and was a member of their Patreon, too. However, I’ve gotten to a point where I can’t listen to them constantly talk about returning items anymore. I don’t understand why they think it’s “cool” to brag about buying things they don’t want and know they’ll end up returning. Why make the purchase in the first place? As someone who worked in retail for several years during my late teens/early 20s, I know how much returns can mess up an employee’s commissions and performance metrics. You may think “it’s a large corporation, who cares if I return something” but it’s usually the sales associate making $10 an hour who gets blamed for the returns. They’re the ones who get in trouble for not turning your return into a sale.

It’s just so cringey hearing the hosts laugh and brag about returning another item and “making money” off of it. Not only does it hurt the employees, it’s also not good for the environment. In a world where the manufacturing of clothes and other goods contributes significantly to climate change, why buy something that you know you don’t want in the first place? Of course there will be times when making a return is inevitable but the hosts are buying things they already know they’re going to return. I just don’t get it. If you don’t like something or aren’t convinced it looks good, don’t buy it! The entitlement and selfishness - not to mention their flippant attitude about it - are enough to make me not want to listen as much as I used to.

I do still enjoy the show but not like I used to. I just wish the hosts would realize that constantly returning stuff isn’t endearing or cute. The podcast would be much more enjoyable if the topic of returns didn’t come up in literally every episode.
