Despite the hazardous billing as “the cumtown of the Christian Left”, I was very excited by the premise of this podcast. I think a synthesis of left-Christianity and online entertainment is a fruitful area of exploration and one that must be developed if left-Christianity is to continue ascending toward cultural relevance. This show, however, won’t be the one to bring about that ascendancy.
I listened to the very first episode and the most recent episode. While I was pleased to see the production value of the show improved, the actual content left a lot to be desired. There were few if any references to Christianity at all. The hosts don’t have a strong group dynamic. It’s all just individuals laughing at their own jokes and hardly relating back to the premise of the show. Current events chat shows are a dime a dozen, and without the Christian socialism angle, this show fades easily in to the crowd.
things would improve with: more structure, more relevance with the shows supposed premise, consistent audio quality across all the hosts, and maybe at the top of the show you include a summary of the day’s content? Overall a fine idea for a show, but the idea is better than the execution. I look forward to seeing what you do in the future and hope you hit your stride
