Really Good
This is really good so far, like HBO TV series good. My only issue is having to wait 2 weeks per episode instead of 1 haha
Great world building dragged down by voice acting
Margaret's Garden is a very intricate, expansive audiodrama that does an exemplary job of juggling multiple timelines and universes. The cast is large and the world has a deep backstory and history, but you never feel lost or in the woods. The show's structure keeps you engaged and leaning into the bizarre history of Everton. Unfortunately, some of the voice actors do not compare to the show's polished content. The female lead, for instance, is clearly reading off the page with awkward pauses and a lack of intonation. Her dialogue is also bizarrely laden with profanity, which feels like a very forced way to add edge to her character. I'm three episodes into the series and I'll keep listening, but the acting truly pulls me out of what should be an immersive fantasy/sci-fi audioscape.
