Mars Hill Sunday Teachings - A Jesus people for the sake of the world.
Jesus is Arrested
Guest teacher Gary Burge unpacks the point at which Jesus was arrested and betrayed and what that has to do with us.
Join us for an Ash Wednesday Service.
As Jesus prays for his followers and for the world in John 17, we get a unique window into the heart of God. There seem to be two profound invitations here; to hear again that we are deeply loved, cherished and prayed for by Jesus, and that we too are invited again into the priestly role as those to intercede for the world in prayer.
Jesus has important words for his disciples knowing they're about to face opposition in an unfriendly world. He's leaving, but not without a plan for them to endure trouble. And so it is for us today: peace is actually possible for what is surely to come.
Followers of Jesus are a peculiar people [1 Peter 2v9 KJV]. Through our faithful loyalty to Jesus as King and our inclusive commitment to the other, we join the Spirit in testifying about the love of God in Christ.
