    Who is Kristina Mering?
    Kristina Mering is the founder and president of the Estonian branch of Anima International, Nähtamatud Loomad. She is also a sociologist focusing on human-animal relations. She has been advocating for animal rights for 15 years, starting her involvement in the movement as a teenager and playing a key role in its development in Estonia. Her organization was awarded the title of the best NGO in the country in 2019, and she herself received the best volunteer coordinator award from the president of Estonia the year before. In addition to her animal welfare work, Kristina has conducted sociological research on slaughterhouse workers and fur industry representatives, and is currently working on a project investigating social norms surrounding meat eating.

    Who is Ryuji Chua?
    Ryuji Chua is a filmmaker and animal advocate focused on challenging how we think about and treat animals through education. He’s been a guest speaker at schools like the University of Warwick and the University of Chicago, produced videos for leading animal rights organizations like Surge, Sentient Media and Faunalytics, and was featured on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah to talk about animal ethics and his independent documentary “How Conscious Can a Fish Be?” He currently serves as an advisor for Vegan Hacktivists.

    Who is David Coman-Hidy?
    David Coman-Hidy, former Executive Director of The Humane League. Under his leadership, The Humane League has grown into a national presence with offices spanning from coast to coast—winning campaigns against some of the largest foodservice and retail corporations in the world and reaching millions of young people each year with a message of compassion for farmed animals. David has spoken on factory farming and effective advocacy at conferences and on campuses across America. He has advised dozens of successful campaigns and his thoughts on activism have been published in Uncaged: Top Activists Share Their Wisdom on Effective Farm Animal Advocacy alongside experts Peter Singer, Bruce Friedrich, and Matt Ball. David graduated Summa Cum Laude from Emerson College’s honors program in only three years after winning the communication college’s Forensics Award and entrance into the Gold Key Honours society.

    Who is Carolina Galvani?

    Carolina is Brazilian and has 20 years of experience in research, investigation, strategic planning, mobilization, communication, and movement building. She has worked in over 30 different countries as an investigative journalist for several leading NGOs and her work has been covered by some of the world’s most prominent media. Between 2013 and 2018, she worked at different organizations in Brazil and was responsible for negotiations and campaigns that led some of the largest food companies in the world—such as Cargill, Bunge, JBS and McDonald’s, —to announce animal welfare policies in Latin America. Carolina is a graduate of Unicamp in Brazil (in economics) and has a master’s degree in International Journalism from City University, London. In September 2017, Carolina founded Sinergia Animal.

    Who is Haven King-Nobles?
    Haven King-Nobles is the Cofounder and Executive Director of Fish Welfare Initiative. He has been involved in animal advocacy and effective altruism for several years, during which time he founded Effective Altruism Oberlin, was president of Oberlin Animal Rights, and was a Research Intern at Mercy For Animals. He graduated from Oberlin College with degrees in computer science and philosophy. Outside of working for better fish welfare, Haven enjoys getting cheap drinks with great people.
