Reflecting on the closing of He-Man.org (1997-2023)
On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, the last posts of the legendary He-Man.org, embodied by its forums, faded away, marking the official closure of the cherished site a reality. Conceived by Jason Moore through the harmonious merging of two He-Man websites crafted by Adam Tyner and Matt Ratzloff, “the Org,” as we lovingly referred to it, bloomed into a vibrant community. A community woven together by the shared passion and enthusiasm of fans devoted to Masters of the Universe and Princess of Power.
The stewardship of the site was entrusted to Val Staples, an unwavering champion of the fandom. Val, along with the substantial contributions of Emiliano Santalucia, James Eatock, and Zadoc Angell, sustained the website’s existence over the years.
Within the digital tapestry of the forums, a potent online community thrived, transcending the boundaries of the internet. Val’s “power parties” at San Diego Comic Con became a nexus for fans to meet face-to-face, and the birth of the original Power-Con, a convention dedicated solely to celebrating He-Man, She-Ra, and their fervent followers, stands as a testament to the site’s profound impact.
Behind the scenes, a devoted cadre of moderators and administrators, including Masters Cast’s own Jon “TheShadow,” cultivated a fertile ground where friendships flourished through threads and posts. It was within this virtual realm that Masters Cast found its inception, a podcast that owes its roots to the supportive embrace of He-Man.org.
In the autumn of 2005, the user Tallstar discovered our podcast even before its official launch, and the ensuing years saw He-Man.org not only supporting our podcast but birthing its own creation, the esteemed Roast Gooble Dinner. Our joint, late-night sessions as “Roasted Masters” at various Power-Con conventions symbolized the enduring camaraderie of He-Fans and She-Ravers.
Our gratitude extends not only to Val Staples but also to the immense support He-Man.org and its community showered upon us since our humble launch in 2005. As the site gracefully bows out, we choose not to bid He-Man.org farewell but to whisper “good journey.” -

Please don’t fade
With the possibility of a new movie and now a new She-ra cartoon...there is room for more content.
Gotten Better. Earlier Eps. Are Difficult
The first handful of years with the podcast are incredibly difficult and frustrating to listen to; as most podcasts are want to. However, with Masters Cast, one thing in particular stuck out with me that made it even more difficult other than the usual podcaststers trying to find their footing: Katy, and occasionally all hosts in question never seemed to watch the entire series they discuss. If you took a drink every time Katy says, "I didn't get that far," you'd die from alcohol poisoning. Why have he come into the discussion if she didn't finish the series? When it came to the Mike Young series, it seemed as if both Shadow and Katy didn't watch the series in its entirety before recording (actually Katy definitely did not). This is a huge no-no and even novice podcasters don't usually make this incredible error.
New Adventures of He-Man, again, gets a lot of unnecessary hate in their "review" episode. If you really want to hear hypocrisy and to hear nits getting picked, this is the episode. It's almost impossible to listen to.
Josh, as much as I enjoy some of his input and other points, is the biggest grump and picker of nits on the show. Holy smokes, does he complain a lot! He claims he isn't a purist, but the way he talks and complains about some of the smaller points of *insert topic here* makes it sound like he is because everything points back to the 80s show as the GOAT.
Thankfully, some of these nuisances have been cleaned up a bit with time. Katy is actually watching the shows/movies in question when necessary and other novice mistakes are being cleaned up. Josh, sadly, still is a grump, but he's not intolerable. Only real complaint at this point is something more consistent and regular with show releases. For a podcast that is nearly 20 years old, having 80-ish episodes is WAY too little. It amazes me that they are still able to maintain some sort of following with the podcast, because most end up dying within a year after not producing a fair number of episodes.
Good Show
I just wish we could get it on more of schedule and not so randomly. Even if it’s just quarterly, or whatever, it would be nice to know it’s coming. I hope they keep doing this for a long time to come to come.
