MDTribe - Non-Traditional Residency Applicant, Anya Bazzell, MD, MPH, MS MDTribe

    • Medicine

HAPPY MONDAY!!! On this week's episode of #MDTribe we have Dr. Anya Bazzell who is originally from Massachusetts and attended Boston University as a pre-medical student. Dr. Bazzell's pursued multiple master's degrees including her Master's of Public Health and Master's of Science prior to matriculating to medical school as a non-traditional student. After failing the STEP exam several times AND getting dismissed from her institution, Dr. Bazzell STILL DID NOT GIVE UP!! Her journey within medical school challenged all norms but it is a true testament that you can succeed if you have the will to persist and push on. She earned her doctorate at 29 years culminating in her 5th graduation and 4th degree!! Upon graduating Dr. Bazzell began working at the CDC Foundation in Martha's Vineyard and is currently undergoing residency interviews! Throughout it all, she has enjoyed creating content for her Surgery and The City Fashion Blog which is absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! (Linked Below!) She loves all things fashion, medicine, and especially sharing her story to inspire others! I am so grateful to have been able to connect with this amazing woman and I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did!

Let us know what you think!
