    EPISODE OUTLINE
1:00 - Where the heck have we been???!?  We give a detailed, minute-by-minute breakdown of every thing that has happened to us over the past 6 months.  By which I, of course, mean that we each talk about one thing that we did.
6:00 - We still don't know how we're going to be able to watch Season 2 of Resistance, but we do know that the first episode was great and the trailer for the season looks awesome.
12:15 - Also awesome?  That trailer for The Mandalorian, which will be on Disney+ in about a month!!!
21:00 - There's even a new video game coming soon, so we look at a trailer for Jedi: Fallen Order and talk a little about what we can expect from that canon offering.
27:00 - We wrap up the show with an overview of the books and comics that are on the way.

Episode 32 - Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Trailer Discussion and Theories

Episode 32 - Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Trailer Discussion and Theories

Recorded on Saturday, April 28, 2019
It's a very timely episode, as Ryan, Braden, and (for about 10 minutes) Dillon discuss and make-up clearly incorrect theories about the trailer for Episode 9, now officially known as The Rise of Skywalker.  And, by "now," I, of course, mean "as of two weeks ago."  Along the way, we venture into the Unknown Regions as explored by Timothy Zahn in Thrawn: Alliances, as well as the treasure-trove of information that is the Legends side of Sheev Palpatine's Wookieepedia page.

    EPISODE OUTLINE
1:00 - Since we forgot to do it last week, we start with a quick thank-you up front to our patrons on Patreon.  We also give a Patreon update and talk about our goal incentive, a commentary track for the "Bibo" episode of Star Wars Resistance.  Want to help us get there?  Click the link above!
3:50 - Bart from Belgium sent us a Celebration highlight e-mail a little after the deadline, but it tied in with our episode perfectly.  So, I shared it with Braden!
6:20 - Brief introduction to the trailer and its 3 parts.
6:50 - We watch and discuss the first part of the trailer, "Rey in the Desert."  The conversation touches on where we might be, who might be flying the TIE, and if what we're seeing is even real.
13:40 - We watch and discuss the second part of the trailer, "Lots of Stuff Happens."  We try (and fail) to make sense of what we are seeing, and end up just listing everything that happened.
20:55 - We watch and discuss the final part of the trailer, "Surprise-O-Rama," and discuss the three big surprises that give rise to this segment's name.
24:51 - Who is this Skywalker of which you speak, and why might he / she / they be rising?  Might some clues to this be found in Thrawn: Alliances?
28:49 - So, if Darth Sidious really is alive, what's the deal?  Maybe we can get some clues about his role by looking at what happened when Palpatine returned in Legends.

Customer Reviews

DeeMac03 ,

Enjoy the father/son duo

Never thought of doing a podcast with a child, but this show is amazing! Definitely will keep listening

alansisto ,

Awesome dad/son podcast!

This duo absolutely rocks! Great chemistry, great timing, and a bunch of laughs along the way.
I admit my SW fandom is pretty much limited to the original trilogy (IV - VI, now), but I've seen the others and so was able to follow along. Gained a bunch of new insight (Porgs were sort of an accident, and inspired by puffins -- who knew?), and enjoyed every minute of it. Love the way dad asks questions to get some great conversation going. This inspires me to think about starting one with my son in five years when my current show has run its course! :)

Polvora370z ,

Pure Jedi Goodness!

The chemistry between dad and son is unreal! Talk about Star Wars hardcore fans and that's one of the reasons that makes this podcast so great you can hear the passion come through with what they are saying.

I will definetly listen again :)
