Inclusivity & Changing Business Culture: Creating Environments in Which Everyone Can Succeed

Kevin and Leslie leverage the 2019 Ellevate Network's Mobilize Women discussion panel to explore: How we can change business culture by putting inclusivity first instead of talking about diversity? How can we be inclusive of differences we cannot see? Are we ready to ask each other "What words best describe what's important for us to know about you (and how you identify yourself)?" Are you Blind to Double Binds?

Are you Blind to Double Binds?

Cohosts Leslie Grygiel and Kevin Bronson explore the "double binds" that women encounter in the workplace. Whereas male leaders are considered forthright, assertive or plain-spoken, female leaders demonstrating the same behaviors are often labeled as overly aggressive. A man may know his worth, yet a woman is a shameless self-promoter. Kevin asks: Do we men expect women to have strong leadership qualities until such time as we want them to be nurturing, like the women in our personal life? Join Leslie and Kevin as they explore what men and women can do to meet in the middle on this topic. Engaging, enlightening and applicable to everyone!

Leslie and Kevin invite through-provoking conversations that everyone benefits from, whether it’s at work or in social settings. It seems like we are expected to know how to interact with men and women yet the “me too” stories are seemingly endless, showing that many do not, to the detriment of men, women and corporations. Excited about future episodes that discuss solutions to getting more women in higher level positions with the encouragement and support of men. Go Kevin and Leslie!

Bold, much needed initiative

Much needed dialogue to improve civility and effectiveness in the workplace. I appreciate your candor and I was pleased to hear you acknowledge the value of diversity at the executive level, not only from a perspective of gender, but also from political and religious perspectives. Regardless of gender, race, party, or religion, diversity indeed enriches the dialogue, and ultimately, the quality of outcomes/outputs. Thank you for tackling such a complex issue. Congratulations on your first podcast! I hope your reach will expand exponentially!
