Psalm 136 "...for His mercy endures forever." We use the word "salvation" as an umbrella term for the expansive work of Jesus. The author breaks down each facet of salvation to show His mercy in each act. His mercy is not just extended to us, but continues forever. As our American forefather Patrick Henry proclaimed, "Give me liberty or give me death!" He understood that death is not the end and liberty -God given freedom to choose to serve Him free from sin- is more precious than life itself. Believers should not fear death! Pastor Kirk used the example of the Christian martyrs Nate Saint, Jim Elliot, Ed McCully, Pete Fleming, and Roger Youderian. Because these men did not fear death, an entire tribe has eternal life. There are things more important and precious than keeping this body alive! His mercy forever! Amen!
