More About Paul Mariani:
Paul Mariani is a managing director with Mesirow Financial’s Investment Banking group. He is responsible for developing key sector-relevant relationships, originating transactions, leading deal teams throughout the transaction process, and providing advisory services to corporate and institutionally-owned food, beverage, and agribusiness clients.
Mariani has more than 20 years of experience as an investment banker with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings, and capital formation transactions (both public and private equity and debt).
Over the course of his career, Mariani has focused primarily on the food industry with particular expertise advising agribusiness companies, branded and private label packaged food companies, distributors and wholesalers, ingredients processors, growers, restaurants, and retail grocery chains. Clients include Fortune 500 publicly-traded companies, privately-held/family-owned companies, and private equity firms.
Prior to joining Mesirow Financial, Mariani was a senior banker in the food and beverage corporate finance practice at KPMG. Before that, he was a principal with Brown Gibbons Lang & Co. His investment banking career originated in Chicago with Banc of America Securities.
Mariani currently serves on the board of Naturally Chicago, an organization focused on shaping and growing the natural and good food ecosystem.
His MBA was earned from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis and his BA from the University of Michigan. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 licenses.
Mariani was a Division I collegiate athlete and continues his passion for Michigan athletics.
