Michelle Curiel | Discernment In Recovery, Boundaries Vs Accessibility & Self-Reflection Knockin‘ Doorz Down

    • Mental Health

Join me, Jason LaChance, host of the  @KnockinDoorzDown  podcast and certified addiction recovery coach, and mental health advocate for my sit down with Michelle Curiel the curator of @thesobrietyplaybook .

Michelle was in active alcoholism and drug addiction for 2.5 decades. Around the age of 37, she overdosed on what she thought was heroin, but it was fentanyl and she flatlined.

Michelle had just sold the keys to her apartment to a drug dealer and before overdosing at her parent's house she was living on a trap house floor. She continued to relapse and was on death's doorstep due to health issues that were compounded by her addiction. With the help of the 12-step program and her higher power, she was able to get me sober and remain sober since August 8, 2019.

Michelle has devoted her life to being of service to the sobriety community by creating sobriety and spiritual awakening content on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.

She teaches from the big book of alcoholics anonymous, the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions, the Daily Reflections, As Bill Sees It, Blessed and Unstoppable, Buddhism, and more.

Michelle states that she has found that a large percentage of people in recovery are very spiritually gifted, but they don't know how to harness their power. She is here to teach them how to do so.

Michelle Curiel and I discuss the following and more.

Intro 0:00

How important is discernment in recovery? 3:23

Is it boundaries of accessibility? 16:00

You do have a say in how life goes 33:00

The muddy waters of communication 40:45

Why is self-reflection important? 49:00
