Midday Manaʻo Epiosde #25 | Manu
On this week’s episode, Manu and Mehana are joined by Bret Nainoa Mossman to discuss one of our favorite topics – manu! No, not our gracious and eloquent co-host; the other manu – birds! Nainoa is a conservationist and founder of Birds Hawaiʻi Past Present, an organization that seeks to rebuild our connection to native birds. In typical Midday Manaʻo fashion, the conversation starts with birds, but touches on a range of other topics including mele, reforestation, food sovereignty and sustainability, mosquitoes, and even the kumulipo. Love it!
I just so happened to stumble across this podcast series as I was searching for something to help “enlighten “ my day. Well let me tell you both Mehana & Manu did just that! Mehana was a mentor/leader when my sons were part of Na Pua Noe’au and I’ve been a “fan” ever since. And who doesn’t love the infamous Manu Boyd, such maika’i loa entertainer & so funny too! Mahalo to both of them for bringing light to many pertinent current events that are so important to Hawaiians and our island community as a whole. I look forward to listening to your upcoming episodes and your special guest! Hana maika’i!
