Episode 41

Mike Shildt is the manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, a role he's been in since July 2018 when he took over for Mike Matheny. He's been in baseball his whole career, including time spent as the manager of the Memphis Redbirds and as an assistant coach at a number of minor league organizations. He also served as an assistant coach at the University of Charlotte and had a successful head coaching career at West Charlotte High School.

He was named National League Manager of the Year with the Cardinals after helping lead them to the Central Division title and has led the team to the postseason in both of his full seasons as manager.

He and his wife Michelle got married in March 2020 shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the baseball season. He and Michelle joined the podcast this week to talk all about being newly married during the pandemic, how the team responded when the season was put on hold, their faith and how their marriage is built on it, and parenting.

Shildt also talked about how his faith impacts him as a baseball manager and how never dreamed his career would take him all the way to being a Major League manager.
