The Flavor of The Month
I recently attended a webinar explaining the pros and cons of using Instagram Reels to promote your travel services. The program was well attended and as far as I was concerned, very well presented. I will add however, it will take more than a single hour to internalize the workings of this marketing strategy.
My message (reminder) this week is to not get overly involved with each and every new idea designed to grow your business. Yes, they all "might" work for you. Yes, they all "sound" like they could be the answer you are seeking. Yes, they will take time and focused-effort over time before you begin to see or enjoy any of the benefits.
I do want you to stay on top of what is available to you in the industry, but not at the cost of losing your momentum in doing what already has been proven to work.
The basics will never go out of vogue. Getting people to come to you because they know you, like you and trust you will always represent the formula that pays.
Become aware of your options, but stick to the basics.

Crafting Your Elevator Speech
Call it an elevator speech, an audio logo or simply your marketing message, in this week's episode Mike will provide a few key hints on how to prepare a believable response to the popular question, "So, what do you do?"
As an added attraction, if you send Mike an email at mike@mikemarchev.com and write "Elevator Speech" in the subject box, Mike will send you a comlimentary copy of his Special Report explaining the elevator speech in detail.

Communication: More Than Just a Buzz Word
Lawsuits have become normal reactions to misunderstandings both large and small. In this episode, Mike shares a current example of a good thig going bad due to a simplle lack of communication. Regardless of your trade, there is no substitute for keeping your clients "in the loop."
Don 't sue me. Talk to me.

Effective Marketing
In today's episode Mike will remind you that every lead and every customer may not be a particular good fit for your business. That being said however, effective marketing remains an important aspect of your daily responsibilities. In order for effective marketing to take place your specific activities must incrementally move you towards your targeted goals on a daily basis.
Mike is currently awaiting publication of a new marketing book written by Alan Weiss, and as the lessons unfold he will be sharing updated marketing advice with you. The underlying message here is it after 40 years of studying marketing, Mike is still open to learning and implementing new and effective marketing tactics as they become available. He hopes that you are continuing your self education in the field of your choice.

Visibility and Ongoing Value
The question Mike asks you during this week's episode is, "What are you doing this summer to maintain visibility while ensuring an ongoing relationship with your current database?"
Mike was introduced to a refreshing idea this past week at the Ommegang Brewery just outside Cooperstown New York. It is a great example of what a company can do to keep the attention of their clients during off hours.
I hope you appreciate this message and that it helps stimulate your thinking as the summer unfolds.

Landing Pages
In today's episode I want to review the importance of, and the proper use of, what is commonly referred to as a landing page. So as not to confuse the issue, I will keep today's program simple and on point.
A landing page is a single page within one's website whose purpose is to highlight one's interest in any particular topic or destination. By offering additional information on any one particular area of interest, people would go to that particular page and hopefully leave their name and email which would provide you, the salesperson, an opportunity to follow-up professionally over the next few weeks or months.
Where the majority of so-called professional sales people go wrong is that they fail to follow up accordingly once an interested candidate asks for additional information. Lack of follow-up, regardless of the industry, is the number one reason why more people are not more successful in sales. (This is an entirely new subject which can be dealt with at a later time.)
Take a few minutes to listen to today's Miked-Up episode and hopefully you'll become more comfortable with the concept of landing pages.
