On December 4th, 1972, 7-year-old Steven Stayner was kidnapped walking home from school and held captive for 7 years. When his kidnapper brought home 5-year-old Timmy White, Steven heroically escaped with the boy, and they were reunited with their families. But 2 decades later, in a disturbing twist of fate, Steven’s older brother Cary was convicted of murdering 4 women in Yosemite National Park.

December 26th, 2004 - Boxing Day - was supposed to be a day of relaxation and celebration. But all of a sudden, massive tsunami waves ripped through beach towns surrounding the Indian Ocean. The 2004 Boxing Day tsunami ended up being the most destructive tsunami in recorded history.

In this episode, we take a look at one of Hawaii’s most famous unsolved cases - the murder of Lisa Au. On January 31st, 1982, 19-year-old Lisa Au’s body was discovered in a ravine in Honolulu 10 days after her disappearance. Panic ensued as women feared police impersonators were targeting female drivers. 40 years after Lisa’s murder, her case remains unsolved.

Travis Walton and his 6 fellow lumberjacks spent November 5th, 1975, like they usually did - sawing trees for the Forest Service. But that night, only 6 men came back from the mountains, and police suspected murder. 5 days later, Travis reappeared with an incredible story - he’d actually been abducted by aliens.
