Season 4: E14 | Financial Advice on Tik Tok with Poulomi Damany, GM of Assets & Tax at Credit Karma

Season 4: E14 | Financial Advice on Tik Tok with Poulomi Damany, GM of Assets & Tax at Credit Karma

    Season 4: E14

This week we hear from the awe-inspiring Poulomi Damany, who I first heard speak at a virtual event back in 2018 when she was the VP of Product Management at Credit Karma. Not only has she since moved to the role of General Manager of Assets and Tax at Credit Karma, (#levelup) but she has continued to be one of the leading women of color in tech that I admire!

Prior to joining Credit Karma, Poulomi spent a year with the US Digital Service, the swat team that came in to rescue Healthcare.gov. She learned that bad technology was truly holding people back from getting the basic health services they needed and committed to being an agent for change in the private sector by leveraging technology to help improve people's lives.

In the episode, Poulomi mentions this Qualtrics Study on behalf of Credit Karma with lots of data and insights into gen z and how they seek financial advice on social media: https://www.creditkarma.com/about/commentary/gen-z-turns-to-tiktok-and-instagram-for-financial-advice-and-actually-takes-it-study-finds

Season 4: E13 | Lack of Confidence is Holding You Back with Eryn of Her Personal Finance

Season 4: E13 | Lack of Confidence is Holding You Back with Eryn of Her Personal Finance

    Season 4: E13

Eryn Schultz became passionate about helping women with MBA's achieve their financial goals while completing her own MBA at Harvard Business School. She learned that women own only $0.32 for every $1.00 owned by men and in her own MBA program she realized that she learned to manage a corporation's finances but not her own. Eryn became motivated to get educated and to educate as many other women as she could!

Now, as an entrepreneur, Eryn works with clients to narrow this gender wealth/investing gap. She has a 10-week money bootcamp, and has recently launched an on-demand course. She also provides one-on-one coaching for couples and individuals who want to tackle their money. Eryn has helped women roll over old 401Ks, max out their IRAs, and feel more confident about their financial decisions overall! Confidence is KEY!

Season 4: E12 | Living in a Van to Pay Off Her Student Loans with Isabella Navarro Gomez

Season 4: E12 | Living in a Van to Pay Off Her Student Loans with Isabella Navarro Gomez

    Season 4: E12

Isabella is hands-down one of the coolest people I've ever met! A true independent thinker and free spirit who knew early on that urban living in NYC was not where she would thrive. Isabella moved to California and has been living in her van for years in order to make payments of $2,000 or more every month.

She is officially debt-free as of October 2021 and now plans to travel and dive into crypto and defi. I was incredibly impressed with Izzi because of her maturity and wisdom, which are far beyond her 30 years! She's such an inspirational person because of her outlook on life and her ability to shine no matter what struggles she's been faced with in her life.

Isabella opens up about: pros and cons of living in a van, glamorization of #vanlife, her upbringing in the Bronx, her favorite personal finance channels, crypto and why she believes it is the future, her plans to travel now that she is debt-free and her passion for psychology and why she believes every child deserves and needs to learn about how the brain works when they're in school.

You will LOVE Isabella and her unique story.

Season 4: E11 | Growing Up Spoiled (with Gina Paradis of @inanewyorkbudget)

Season 4: E11 | Growing Up Spoiled (with Gina Paradis of @inanewyorkbudget)

    Season 4: E11

This is the 4th episode that highlights a Latina in honor of Latinx Heritage Month and it was such a fun chat with Gina from @inanewyorkbudget. Gina is such a real one - she shares her reflections about growing up "spoiled" where her parents would get her the things she wanted and she never thought much about the money. Once she was old enough to begin helping out and earning money on her own, she tasted true independence and realized that it meant she would have to provide the money for the lifestyle she wanted to live and maintain without help from her parents!

Listen as Gina breaks down the vacation savings fund for 2020 that ended up putting her and some family members in a really good place financially before the pandemic hit. You'll just love Gina's down-to-earth personality and openness about her goals, mistakes and current priorities when it comes to money and her mindset.

New Follower!

Just listened to the trailer and I’m so incredibly excited. I can already tell the content is going to be rich (no pun) ☺️. So excited to find women in my age demographic especially, speaking so candidly about money, their mistakes & missteps, and ultimately how they overcame it! Cant wait to binge these episodes!

Helpful personal finance stories

I first started following MissBHelpful through her Youtube series, which has a really useful catalog of personal finance-help videos. This podcast series is a great compliment to her Youtube page. Guests of the show tend to be candid about their personal finance journeys in ways that are pretty relatable, and it helps to hear strategies from a variety of people. Hope to hear more in 2021!

Best financial podcast for millennials!

I learned of MissBeHelpful through a financial feminist summit and started following her on IG and then learned of this podcast. It’s so refreshing to hear her and her guests’ experiences with money management. I’ve learned so many things that I wish I knew when I was a few years younger and I’m also learning that I’m not the only one who has made expensive mistakes. This podcast Is definitely worth subscribing! You won’t regret it!!
