We will learn:

The dangers of identifying too closely with our reflections.

How to transform your relationship with mirrors.

5 basic steps to start a daily mirror meditation.

Most people know their flaws so well they practically identify with them. And many people can’t even stand to look in the mirror because the feelings of shame or repulsion are so intense.

The good news is, with awareness and intention, you can use the same mirror to reverse these patterns. The mirror can be a powerful tool for self reflection and for finding the you underneath the persona you’ve built up over the years.

We just have to consciously practice with it. And that’s what we’re learning today.

Our guest is Tara Well. She is an associate professor of psychology at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York, NY, where she developed a mirror-based meditation called “a revelation,” in the New York Times. Her new book: Mirror Meditation: The Power of Neuroscience and Self-Reflection to Overcome Self-Criticism, Gain Confidence, and See Yourself with Compassion was just released.
