We are sisters and we are mixed. We decided to make a podcast to talk about what it's like to be mixed in America. We will discuss big and small issues as well as everyday topics. Give us a listen we may have more in common than you think.
Episode 5: Racism
It’s been far too long since our last episode, but to be fair there has been a lot going on. Cheyenne is at the end of her year with her students and trying to wrap that up while crafting her summer plans. I have been remodeling my kitchen with my husband and trying to keep our five year old and our twins safely out of the way during the whole process.
Tracking back to the episode. This is the episode that Cheyenne and I are the proudest of. We’ve finally hit our groove! This is by far the best episode we’ve recorded and this is the type of content we’ve been hoping to share. We started this podcast right after the incident in Minneapolis with George Floyd because we felt like our perspective should have a voice. We truly straddle two worlds and in this episode, we discuss racism and how we’ve experienced it in our lives. Hopefully, you’ll take something away from this episode that helps you grow as an individual.
As always please like, share and subscribe. And if there’s someone who you think would benefit or appreciate this conversation do share this with them and be the catalyst that helps expand their outlook.

Episode 4: Black History Month Tribute
In this episode, we talk about a few facts we’ve learned about black history that we didn’t know previously as well as chat about our own histories a bit. We also share a few funny stories and are very excited to introduce you guys to the midwestern goodbye.
Episode 3: Education Covid Style
It’s been a while since we’ve released a new episode and with good reason. Cheyenne and I have both been crazy busy. With her working in the education sector and having many more restrictions and obligations to complete in less time, and me being on the other end of the table with a child in kindergarten, twin toddlers, and still having to maintain a 40 hour work week you could definitely say we’ve been stretched a little thin lately! And unfortunately to boot our recording this week is a little off due to some technical recording difficulties. If you put all that aside it’s still a really great episode we hope you enjoy!
Episode 2: Appearances
In this episode we talk about our experiences regarding our appearances and the things people have said and how we felt about those comments. Being of a mixed race comes with many odd expectations of how we should look and act. While this episode only scratches the surface of the types of encounters that we face being mixed, it’s a great starting point.
As you’re now getting more familiar with us and who we are we are going to start getting into deeper subjects some of which will revolve around our experiences and others around our opinions on different matters.
