Rank Choice Voting Goes Mainstream
Rank Choice Voting has been a long-time favorite of policy nerds and democracy activists but hasn’t been implemented on a large scale. But that’s all about to change. Millions of voters in New York City used a rank choice ballot to vote for their next mayor. The results? The more moderate candidate won the Democratic primary in one of America’s most liberal cities. America Talks with Pearce Godwin
Political Polarization is tearing America apart. Division and Extremism are on the rise. We know this. We talk about it pretty often. But, this weekend, we have an opportunity to do something about it. Hillari sits down with Pearce Goodwin, the CEO & Founder of #ListenFirst, to talk about Polarization, Common Ground, and America Talks. America Talks is a powerful conversation event that invites Americans to connect one-on-one, face-to-face on video across our political divides. By doing so, we remind ourselves that the “other” is – just like us – a person with family, friends, hopes, fears, values, beliefs, and intrinsic worth.

Just what I’ve wanted to hear
I recently discovered this podcast and I really enjoy it. I was raised a conservative republican but like the host I’m tired of what has turned into hatred on both sides of the isle . I still hold my beliefs but I also know that this country was founded on compromise and we’ve forgotten how to do that now. I believe the middle ground is the right ground to stand on if anything ever gets accomplished again and this podcast holds to that belief.
Entertaining and hits the right questions
Political podcasts can get either boring or toxic but this one is promising. Host knows her stuff and is funny while she does it. She also doesn’t mess around with questions she asks her guests, either the right or the left. Podcast sticks to its name and keeps it in the middle.
Moderates aren’t extinct
Really like this podcast. Sometimes it feels like there’s no moderates left. Good to have this
