027: The Double-Edged Sword of Trendy Activism

027: The Double-Edged Sword of Trendy Activism

As someone with a queer sister, Elizabeth has always felt conflicted about 🌈 p r i d e 🏳️‍🌈 month. On one hand, it’s awesome that so many outwardly show their support for the LGBTQIA+ community, while on the other, she cringes when she see storefronts put up their once-a-year rainbow flags, rainbow-themed retail campaigns and corporate floats in the Pride parade. She thinks to herself: Do they actually care about my sister or are they just using her sexuality as a marketing tactic? Could these companies make a greater impact if they re-allocated the funds spent on rainbow-themed paraphernalia elsewhere? She asked her sister. And although her sister doesn’t speak for the entire queer community, she shared 3 things with Elizabeth that she shares in this week's episode.

024: When It's Time To Recenter

Strap in for a magical show today where Elizabeth talks about her love of tarot! She gives listeners the inside scoop on how she leans on tarot to help offer the clarity and guidance she's seeking, how it's been a hell of a lot more centering than asking people for advice or tirelessly trying to come up with a solution with her logical mind, and how it’s allowed her to support people without feeling like I need to know all the answers.

MV 018: Monday Vibes: Why We Judge Others

MV 018: Monday Vibes: Why We Judge Others

Are you getting triggered AF right now as well? Tune in to hear Elizabeth's honest confession about how she's been judging the shit out of people recently, how she found herself judging the shit out of herself, and her secret to reconciling the two. Research shows we can't have compassion for others until we have compassion for ourselves. We can't accept other people's different experiences and shortcomings until we recognize those within ourselves. None of us are perfect. But, together, we can learn to stop criticizing ourselves for feeling how we feel and by doing so, we'll be less critical of others for feeling how they feel.

    Word of the Week: Duality

Ask Yourself: What do you tend to judge others about? Are these things you judge about yourself as well?

Weekly Mantra: We're all doing the best we can.

....Becca.....Martin ,

Authentic, vulnerable & honest

Elizabeth has mastered having an unapologetic take while also approaching her topics from a place of empathy. I love that she shows up each week with a refreshing view on things we all struggle with in everyday life and offers helpful, actionable advice. I highly recommend this podcast!!!

A raw and honest podcast

I loved that Elizabeth spoke the truth and highlighted all the unglamorous things she’s had to do to chase her dreams. Oftentimes people like to present a highly filtered look at their lives, but this is an unvarnished account with integrity.
