Jesse, Grayson & Mike begin their new retrospective series on the movies of conservative filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza with his debut film, 2016: Obama's America. Based on his book The Roots of Obama's Rage, the 2016 overcame poor critical reception to be a box office hit, at the time being the second highest grossing political documentary in the United States since 1982. Were critics unreasonably harsh on D'Souza, or was his film really just a partisan hit piece for the right-wing?

Jesser Horowitz and Grayson Lazarus return to the V/H/S franchise with its final entry (so far), 2016's Siren, the feature-length adaptation of Amateur Night from the first V/H/S movie. When it first released, Siren earned a mixed critical reception and found some very underground popularity with the niche horror crowd that earned its parent franchise three entries. Four years later though, it's the V/H/S film that no one remembers. Is Siren the hidden gem of this ill-fated franchise; or, like its predecessors, should it stay forgotten?

V/H/S 2 surprised audiences when it was released to both (mostly) positive critical reception and financial success. So, it might have seemed inevitable that it would get yet another sequel. That would be V/H/S Viral, featuring none of the original filmmakers, which received the worst critical reception, and the lowest box office numbers, of the franchise. Was it deserved?
