    • Self-Improvement

In this episode, we cover:
Kimberlyn Owens-Hughes helps women make space for creativity-- creativity is the first thing to go when we are burned out.To do list vs to be list--how do you want to feel during the day? The importance of setting boundaries with our kids to foster their own independence and creativity. The role confidence plays in moms forgetting our identities and losing our spark.Using connection and community to get unstuck.Kimberlyn is the founder of Coffee and Create, a virtual co-working space for female creatives. Kimberlyn offers personalized creativity coaching to help women learn how to manage their creative energy and make space for a creative outlet in motherhood and a society that emphasizes productivity over creativity.
Part over-achiever and part rebel, Kimberlyn has spent most of her adult life swaying between the expectation of making a successful and profitable business out of her language skills and her dream of reading books all day and writing her own. After her daughter was born, she spent the better part of the past 8 years pursuing more “sensible” and “productive” translation work, focusing more on the bottom line than on her inner desire for fun and creative freedom, with the belief that there was no longer room for creativity in motherhood. Little did she know this was the fast track to burnout. It wasn’t until she shifted her focus towards making space for creativity that she realized she could enjoy both creative and financial abundance.
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, she has resided for the past 15 years in Valparaiso, Chile, where she now lives with her daughter, her Argentinean fiancé, and their 4 pets (2 cats and 2 dogs).
