As a started listening to this podcast, I thought there is no way Julie is innocent. Now I will be rooting l that her conviction is overturned and she is granted a new trial. Her lawyer failed her, as Marion PD failed both Julie & Jade. I will never understand the need to “win” while lying to achieve this at the cost of someone’s life.

I’m waiting for the podcast’s response to the appellate decision filed on 01/20/26. They denied a new trial and laid out all the facts. It was the right conclusion. Listen to The Prosecutor podcast on this case and you will agree that Bevely murdered her 11 year old stepdaughter.

I wanted to like this. Having no exposure to this case I wanted a the story not the agenda. Grossly muddled with drama, heavy focus on non issues, and representing the facts that were presented to jurors in court with a contorted or dismissive air. I agree this series is based on truth. Unfortunately it is a truth derived from the emotionally fueled and disproportionately weighted perceptions of those who find veracity in allegiance. I would rather walk away without answers having been given the integral facts vs feeling as if I’ve served Flavor Aid to buy into a family’s grieving heartbreak. There are no winners, the story is a tragedy of the highest degree only to be made worse with soap opera-esque reporting.

The evidence against Julia is so strong and clear, it befuddles me how anyone with a working brain could do an honest assessment and come to any other conclusion than guilty as sin. I have to imagine this farce of a podcast is a cash and fame grab at the expense of a murdered 11 year old child. If these yahoos actually think Julia is innocent, they are beyond gullible and should probably not be in charge of their own finances.
